Prague districts with locals: Prague 5 – Smíchov with Kate @praguetoday
⠀
Kate’s 5 favorite places:
⠀
1️⃣ Futura Gallery
“This gallery is hidden from eyes, but it contains one of the most prominent sculptures created by David Černý.
When you went through all over the gallery, you’ll find a big window which leads you to these sculptures.
The sculptures are called Brown-Nosers, and they describe problems existing in Czech politics.
Inside you’ll see a television screen that plays a video of two politicians feeding each other, accompanied by the music of Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”
⠀
2️⃣ Park Sacre Coeur
“It’s one of the most beautiful parks 🌳 in Prague 5. Here you can find playgrounds for children, places for sports, you can read a book in a silence or enjoy a wonderful view on the city.
Not everyone knows that there’s a way from this park to Nový Smíchov shopping center 🚶♂️”
⠀
3️⃣ Station of Natural Scientists
“As a part of Sacre Coeur there’s a Station of Natural Scientists🔬🔭⚗️, where you can find a small Zoo 🐐🐖🐎 or educational section for kids. It’s interesting to know that you can visit this Zoo is for free😉”
⠀
4️⃣ Café Českavárna Portheimka “Just two steps from Anděl you will find a very special small place ☕️🍷 with beautiful ambiance.
There’s a Portheimka park, a gallery, a cafe and a wine yard/pub, that’s very popular among locals”
⠀
5️⃣ Smíchovská Náplavka
“I like Smíchov, because it’s located close to the center, just 5-10 minutes, and it has its own embankment Smíchovská Náplavka🌊.
Here you can see a lot of birds, they live here all year round.
And it’s a very beautiful place😍. Just take a look!”
