Trifot

Today I met a monster! 🤖 This sculpture scares me… But not because of its appearance, but because of the meaning of its creation.

Let my introduce you the Trifot, a sculpture by the famous Czech artist David Černý.
This 12-meters-height stainless steel statue represents an animated walking monster. ⠀
Inside its big turning eyes there are cameras filming the surroundings and displaying selected persons on large screens (I’ll make a video about it soon 🎞📽).

According to different sources, the author was inspired either by John Wyndham’s the Day of the Triffids, or by George Orwell’s 1984, or by H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds.

Does the meaning of this sculpture scare you? 😱
What is the author’s intention in your opinion? ⠀
