Karlín is a part of Prague 8 🌳
It borders Holešovice to the north, Vítkov hill and Žižkov to the south, New Town to the west and Libeň to the east.
⠀
It was formerly an independent town since 1817, but then it became part of Prague in 1922.
In 20th century the properties in Karlín were counted among the cheapest in Prague, that’s why there were a lot of industrial enterprises and dwellings.
⠀
In 2002 Karlín was severely affected by the 100-year flood. ⠀
Since that time this district has been changing a lot and became a new destination for business and residence.
Now you can find here a lot of modern and hipster places (cafes, restaurants, social places) and offices of the international companies.
